When we started live streaming figure skating competitions years ago, when our own kids were still competing, we never imagined how much it would come to mean to so many people.
We hear about (grand-)parents watching their (grand-)child skate live for the very first time, even while standing on the opposite side of the country, or even the world. We have seen coaches use our high quality footage to guide and support their skaters more effectively.
We saw fans forming a close community, even if they had never stood together in the same ice rink.
And honestly, that’s exactly why we kept doing this, even after our own kids stopped competitive figure skating. Because figure skating is more than a sport. It’s emotion, dedication, pride and it deserves to be seen.
Now we’ve reached a point where we need to explore how we can continue offering this service in the future. Not because anyone doesn’t want it, but because the financial puzzle becomes a little more complex every season.
That’s why we want to ask you something simple:
👉 How important are the livestreams to you?
By taking part in this poll, you help us show the impact these livestreams have on the figure skating community. Your voice helps us explore ways to keep this service going next season and beyond.
Thank you for being part of this beautiful sport. Thank you for watching. Thank you for thinking along with us.
Together, we keep figure skating in the Netherlands visible.
